Only Marlborough boasts a fifth of the country’s coastline, New Zealand’s largest wine region, and its largest high-country farm.

The winding waterways of the beautiful Marlborough Sounds make for brilliant boating, fishing, water activities and wildlife viewing including dolphin watching. The iconic 72km Queen Charlotte Track can be explored by foot, mountain bike or sea kayak over one or several days.

There's an abundance of vineyards and cellar doors surrounding Blenheim, so explore the stunning Wairau Valley and discover why the world is in love with Marlborough wine. Getting Here

Marlborough is conveniently located at the top of the South Island and is easily accessible by air, sea, rail and road. Once your delegates have arrived, transferring them around the region is quick and easy, with no traffic congestion and many local group or individual transport options.


Marlborough Airport is linked by regular direct flights to the main centres, just 7km from the centre of Blenheim. The 10-minute drive into town can be taken by taxi, shuttle or rental car. 

Air New Zealand arrives direct from Wellington and Auckland, and Sounds Air links to Marlborough and Picton Airports from Christchurch, Wellington and Paraparaumu.

Several daily ferry services connect Wellington with Picton/Waitohi. The two inter-island passenger ferry companies, the Interislander and Bluebridge take approximately 3 and a half hours to complete the Cook Strait crossing, which is considered one of the most beautiful ferry journeys in the world.


Marlborough is located on the main rail link between Picton/Waitohi, Kaikoura and Christchurch. Sit back and take in the scenery along the South Island's East Coast.

Climb aboard the Coastal Pacific train, which takes you for five hours along rugged coastlines, across remote beaches, between mountains and sea, on a timeless journey of breath-taking beauty. 


Charge your camera for photo opportunities along your road journey to Marlborough from Christchurch (4hr), Nelson (1hr 45mins), Kaikoura (1hr 45mins) and the West Coast. Blenheim to Picton takes 25mins.

Once you have arrived in Marlborough there are several coach companies to provide transport for large groups along with shuttles and taxis for VIPs and guest speakers. Hire cars are also located at Marlborough airport and at the Picton Ferry terminal.

Blenheim has a purpose-built convention centre and a multitude of other venues and facilities, along with a range of accommodation to suit all budgets. Whether it is an executive meeting overlooking the vines, a small conference down in the Marlborough Sounds or a larger conference, Marlborough can cater for a range of conferences and business events.

The Marlborough Events Centre is Marlborough’s key purpose-built conference venue. Located in the centre of Blenheim, the centre caters for up to 450 people theatre or cocktail style, or 300 for a banquet.

Adjoining the Events Centre is Marlborough’s modern ASB Theatre which can comfortably accommodate 700 delegates in its main auditorium, or 300 for a banquet dinner on stage.

Marlborough also offers a multitude of other venues, including bespoke and unique vineyard or waterside options perfect for a smaller gathering.


To accommodate your delegates, the region offers a varied selection of accommodation for business events and incentive groups.

There are more than 1000 rooms available in accommodation ranging from luxury lodges amongst the vines and nestled in the Sounds, to town-based hotels combining accommodation and conference facilities on the same premises.
