Experience the heart of Marlborough through heritage at Marlborough Museum. Enjoy exhibitions with artifacts from Marlborough's 700 year old Polynesian arrival site. Exhibitions also cover: the arrival of Captain Cook in 1976; whaling days of the 1820's and 1830's; and European Settlement, including the Wairau Affray in 1843. Discover the Victorian Rooms, and selections from our unique collections from historic textiles, toys and photograph collections. The Wine Exhibition tells the story of wine in Marlborough. It showcases some of the earliest characters who shaped the industry, their tools, inventions, environment, social, and economic climate, and of course their product.
Museum: Open 10-4 daily (except Xmas Day & Good Friday. Entry charges: $10 Adults & $5 children (Group discounts on request). Marlborough Archives; Open for research Tuesday & Thursday only.
