The Rose family have a long and proud pioneering history in the Marlborough region with Phil and Chris Rose establishing their vineyards on the banks of the Wairau River in 1978.With their first vintage in 1991 Wairau River is one of the regions original wine companies.
Today the cellar door restaurant is run by Sam Webb under the name Number 11 - it is a casual environment, serving delicious, shared food, a reflection of how the Rose family entertains at home.
The Wairau River cellar door enables wine flight tastings and retail sales of its award-winning wines. A perfect place to stop on your tour of Malbrough's wineries.
