Operating six days a week the Magic Mail Run is a great way to explore the Marlborough Sounds and is the only official licensed NZ Post Rural delivery service by water in the Queen Charlotte Sound. Come with us and share the excitement of mail day as we deliver the mail and groceries to the families that live in these beautiful remote places. Say hi to the kids waiting for their school work, and delight in the antics of our small (and not so small!) animal friends eager for a biscuit treat from your Mail Boat skipper. No one day is ever the same and you never know who you are going to meet. Our route changes daily but we always stop at Ship Cove, a spot made famous by Captain James Cook at which he anchored five times during the 1770's and has been commemorated by a memorial. Take the opportunity to go ashore and explore, read the information panels, take pictures or just walk along the beach. we'll then return to Picton delivering mail and uplifting guests as we go. Beachcomber Cruises are proud to say we no longer use single use cups, we sell our own keep cups in office so you can enjoy tea and coffee on board selected vessels but also feel free to bring along your own snacks and beverages for the trip.
