Te Whare Ra Wines

Te Whare Ra (est 1979) is the oldest small winery in Marlborough and home to the oldest vines in the region. Both our vineyard and winery are certified organic - owned & operated by winemakers – Anna & Jason Flowerday. The 11 Ha vineyard is located in Renwick - just off SH63 - and is planted to 7 different varieties. Yields are kept low, the vineyard is managed with a combination of organic and biodynamic practices and all the fruit is hand-picked and hand-sorted. The wines are made with minimal intervention in a small winery which has been specifically set up for small batch winemaking. We produce an outstanding array of aromatic white wines including Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and aromatic blend called Toru. We also make excellent Chardonnay and Syrah and some of the best Pinot Noirs in the region.
