Mountain biking on the nearby Queen Charlotte Track is a popular pastime for visitors to Anakiwa. So if you would rather pedal that paddle, we can help! From our base, it is just a short 10 minute ride down on the fantastic Link Pathway to the start of the Queen Charlotte Track and quite possibly one of the best sections for mountain bike riding available in all of Marlborough. While the Queen Charlotte Track is regarded as a classic New Zealand walk, the 70 km track is now also regarded as one of New Zealand’s best single track mountain bike rides and became the 21st Great Ride on the Ngā Haerenga New Zealand Cycle Trail in March 2013. For those of you a strict budget then the standard rental is for you but if you are keen to ride in one direction and see a bit more, then the 1 way Mountain Bike trip with a water taxi transfer, is the way to go. Or if you a bike enthusiast and want to do the whole track then enquire now for our 2 or 3 day package. We stock one of the leading bike brands in the world, Specialized Bikes. We are using the Specialized Rockhopper 29er and the Pitch 27.5 for our fleet. These bikes are 27-speed with hydraulic braking systems. These bikes are perfect for exploring the local tracks in style. For the adventurous families out there, we have some wicked Specialized kids bikes for hire along with adult bikes. There is the fantastic Link Pathway track from our base to Anakiwa, away from the road, for a nice easy ride to the beach for a picnic or a swim. From there you can try some gentle mountain biking to Davies Bay and back on the brilliant Queen Charlotte Track, before returning to our base. For all mountain bike trips, you are provided with a Helmet, repair kit and a High Viz vest if riding on the road.
