Our Omaka Aviation Heritage Museum attracts visitors from around the world to see their impressive collection of early “flying machines” and WW1 and WW2 fighters and other period aircraft. Combine the Wings of Omaka with a taste of the many aromas, textures and flavours of our world famous Marlborough wines, on a guided tour of this exceptional region. You will be collected from your accommodation at 10.00am. Our small groups offer a more personalised and rewarding experience. Relax during the scenic short drive through Marlborough, where the wonders of the Aviation museum await – spectacularly presented in lifelike scenarios, many depicting actual events of the relevant wars. Then spoil yourself with regional seafood and other delicacies during our lunch stop (own cost and time permitting) at a vineyard restaurant. For the wine tour after lunch, we select a range of the large, through to the small family-run wineries, where you can taste the zesty Sauvignon Blancs and a wide variety of our other tasty cultivars. Visit the cellars to experience the rich aromas of wine maturing in French oak barrels and hear how our grapes are processed into our unique multi-award winning wines for which the valley is so famous. Tasting the hand-made gourmet chocolates at the Chocolate factory is a brilliant way to end this exceptional day. Return to your accommodation at about 4.00pm. Go on – spoil yourself ! Tour Duration approx. 6 hours The tour price includes entrance to one of the 2 museum display halls, plus all tasting fees at the wineries. Also included are bottled water and snacks on the bus. Excluded is the cost of lunch and any purchases. The legal age to drink alcohol in NZ is !8 years.
