Birch Hill Cottage

Fully renovated this was the original Head Shearer’s Cottage for the area and is a wonderful spot to come completely relax while in NZ. Owners Lisa and Mike have planted 100's of trees and are working on establishing a garden paradise over the 8 years they have owned the property. We are continuously upgrading the cottage and land. You are welcome to come and enjoy and experience our slice of paradise.

The cottage is situated on 8 acres of land and shared with the main house. Located 40 minutes easy drive from Blenheim, and 30 minutes from St Arnaud, Lake Rotoiti, and the gateway to Rainbow ski area, it is secluded but has easy access to the beautiful Marlborough region. The cottage has a microwave, a single element induction cooktop and a hooded BBQ.

We have high quality cotton sheets, all new linens, towels and bedding. Nothing in this cottage is what we wouldn't live with ourselves. You will have the full cottage to yourselves and you are welcome to wander around the 8 acres we are continuously planting and developing. Our cottage is close if you need anything, but you will be able to enjoy your escape, peace, quiet and privacy.

CELL COVER: Rural cell network has been installed in the area using the 4G network.

WIFI: There is NO WiFi or Broadband available in our rural area. If WiFi is important to you, I’m sorry but our space may not be for you. We use our cell phones data to access the internet.

TV: We have installed Freeview in the cottage. Netflix and anything internet driven is not available as we can not access Wifi in a lot of rural NZ. Although we use our phone data to watch at our place.

DOGS: We have a friendly German Shorthaired Pointer. He is friendly and we keep him with us most of the time. He does wander around the property a couple of times a day without us, he should not bother you as he generally stays away from the cottage, but if you have issues with dogs, please let me know so we are aware.
