The Marlborough Falcon Trust is breeding the incredible kārearea for release and if you keep your eyes peeled, you may see one cruising above the vines. The Trust has a special aviary that is home to a number of injured birds. The birds are partnered up in the hope their offspring, to be released to the wild, will help save the species from extinction.

Public Tours

Public Tours are run during the public advocacy season of January to May: These tours will give the opportunity to learn about and view some of our resident falcons at our centre. Find out more HERE

Private Tours

The Private Kārearea Tour will give you a more up close and personal viewing of our rehabilitation and breed-for-release centre. falcons at our centre. Please note: The Falcon Trust can only offer Falcon Encounters for Private Tour visits, as other groups are too large to accommodate for the welfare of our advocacy kārearea. Group Tours

The Marlborough Falcon Trust have a Group Tour option at a set rate of $20pp (no adult or child price) but require a minimum booking of 10 people and a maximum of 30 people. This tour is popular with business and community groups by enquiry.Email

School Season: June - August

Marlborough Lines Ltd sponsor The Marlborough Falcon Trust to run the "Falcons in Marlborough Schools Programme" for year 3 & 4 primary school students in Term 2 and the start of Term 3.

Breeding Season: September - January

The Marlborough Falcon Trust is close entirely to visitors during this time to enable the kārearea to focus on breeding without disturbance. Their chicks are released to the wild to help restore populations of kārearea.
