Department of Conservation campsites

If you’re after a million dollar view for very little cost, visit one of the nearly 50 Department of Conservation (DOC) campsites in Marlborough, from Blumine Island in the Marlborough Sounds, to the Acheron at the far end of the Molesworth Road.

Routeburn Flats Campsite Tahu Tk 1920

You’ll find serviced DOC campsites at Momorangi Bay in the Queen Charlotte Sound and at the Pelorus Bridge Scenic Reserve, while the rest are standard, back country or basic campgrounds.

These are a fantastic way to see Marlborough, so take a look at the DOC map, and choose the spot for your home-away-from-home. For dog friendly DOC sites you may need a permit. These can be obtained by emailing: nelsonvc@doc.govt.nz
