Willow Obelisk Weaving Workshop & Homemade Lunch

Events  >  Willow Obelisk Weaving Workshop & Homemade Lunch
Immerse yourself in a day of nourishment and creativity at Barewood garden. Learn to weave from skilled craftswoman Tanya Doty, and enjoy homemade lunch and afternoon tea, made with ingredients harvested from the garden at Barewood.

Begin your day with tea and coffee and a warm welcome to Barewood. Nestled within the garden, and using willow hand harvested from Tanyas Upper Motuere property, you will begin to create your very own obelisk. During the day you will learn techniques and weaves that you can apply to other garden projects at your home.

A homemade summer spread will be served on the shaded veranda at lunchtime, before the second half of the workshop commences. Your day will round off around 5pm, after tea and cake and some time to wander the garden. If you like, bring a book and find a secluded spot to soak up your favourite read.

You will return home with a decorative and practical willow obelisk, a classic, beautiful and sculptural addition for any garden, as well as the knowledge to apply to further projects you may like to explore in your garden. We will also send you on your way with a packet of Barewood flower seeds.

This will be a day of skill sharing, nourishment and relaxation, whilst enjoying exclusive access to Barewood Garden.

Everything you need for the day is included in the ticket price - tools, materials and food.

Please let us know of any dietries. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to cater for coeliacs.
