Traffic Light Bandana Dog Walk
Events > Traffic Light Bandana Dog Walk
Traffic Light Bandana DOG WALK and fun day, hosted by Picton Vet, NZ.
Get out and socialize 'on lead' at this Traffic Light Bandana Dog Walk and fun day.
These colourful bandanas each indicate the dog's feelings or condition. It signals to others to ask before interacting. Enjoy your dog in the company of others, while encouraging communication and control at dog parks, and avoiding accidents and altercations.
Memorial Park is adjacent to Picton Marina with entry at 77 Waikawa Road. It is NOT on the foreshore which Google maps might send you to the war memorial!
The event starts with registration and supply of bandanas from 9 - 9.45am. At 10am, get ready to join others in one of two walks around the Picton town showing off the colourful bandanas on the dogs. On return, we call in at a rest home.
From 11.00am the fun begins with a special dog club judge, games, races and prizes for best trick, largest and smallest dogs and more. Dogs and owners can mingle and socialise in a controlled environment with dogs 'on lead'. A professional photographer will attend, as will Mrs Whippy, food and a coffee cart for refreshments. A dog club demonstration or police dog might even visit.
You Must register and pay BEFORE the event. Ticket sales here CLOSE 5pm Thursday 27 March, for us to prepare bandana bags. No gate sales.
