Lets Light up Marlborough and extract more potential. Campaign fundraiser event. Nyara standing for Marlborough council elections.
• Empowering Communities for Safety & Success.
As your local body candidate, I am committed to an inclusive, thriving, and safer Blenheim—where every individual, regardless of age or background, feels empowered to succeed and belong. My vision is grounded in active engagement with our diverse communities. By building authentic connections and listening to local voices, I aim to develop meaningful outreach programs that not only address needs but ignite potential.
• Safe spaces for Families and children.
Our seasons demand practical solutions—safe indoor play centres for young children are essential. With longer winters and unpredictable weather, families need warm, accessible spaces where children can play, learn, and thrive without braving cold parks. I will advocate for investment in these vital community hubs.
• Community safety: A shared responsibility.
Strengthening partnerships with local community police patrol. Supporting neighbourhood watch initiatives. Promoting proactive crime prevention strategies, Together, we can reduce crime and ensure safer streets for all.
• Energising Blenheim’s Business Scene
Blenheim’s CBD holds untapped potential for vibrant business growth and development. I’m committed to supporting initiatives that encourage innovation, host regular business expos, and create opportunities for entrepreneurs and retailers to thrive. I’ll advocate for revitalising the town centre with late-night shopping and extended café hours—bringing life and energy to our evenings. A lively, active CBD will help stimulate the local economy, attract more tourist visitors, and create job opportunities—particularly for our younger generation, giving them more reason to stay and build their future here.
• Efficient Transport Network system.
Desire an effective and efficient transport system in Marlborough. Promote upgrading the digital bus & Train timetables at the various bus stops to be both audio and visual to accommodate our disabled communities. Robust but routes that encourages more public use of transport. Negotiate parking fines that are sustainable to our communities.
• Lower rates, Clean safe drinking water & Green environment
We want to keep rates lower, attracting housing developers to the region to build more affordable housing. Policies to protect water and air pollution. Protecting the animals. Waste management policies that keep the city clean from litter by increasing number of bins in the public places.
With your support, I will champion a Blenheim that is empowered, protected, and full of promise for future generations.
