Tech & Innovation Hub
Marlborough’s new Tech & Innovation Hub is being created with $578,000 in funding support from the Government’s $200 million Kānoa fund.
Based on Scott Street in Blenheim's CBD, the hub is due to open June 2024. The hub will support start-ups and innovators who are solving real-world problems in areas such as sustainability, while helping businesses create more value and well-paid jobs in the region.
Funding
The Kānoa investment fund supports regions to achieve their economic potential. The Marlborough District Council initially approved extra budget to develop the tech and innovation ecosystem in Marlborough in the 2021/2031 Long Term Plan. After months of industry consultation the Marlborough Economic Wellbeing Strategy was launched in November 2022 which showed a great need for the region’s economic sectors to innovate and change.
