Steve Halton Wood Artist

Seeking inspiration from the natural world around me, I create individually designed boxes and wall art from my workshop studio in the Wairau Valley, Marlborough.

Since moving to Marlborough with my family in 2009, I have been exploring New Zealand and Australian woods in my work. Most of my timber is recycled, rescued or wood from storm-damaged trees.

My fascination for creating boxes and wall art continues to evolve, exploring design and form but always allowing the natural beauty of the wood to be fully appreciated.

I am a member of the Artists of Marlborough. My work sells throughout New Zealand and to international buyers.
