Molesworth Cobb Cottage Campsite
If you're planning on driving or cycling through Molesworth Station, New Zealand's largest farm, it's worth spending a night at the Department of Conservation campsite beside the historic Cobb Cottage (built 1885), at the foot of the rolling golden hills.
There's a spectacular natural swimming pool to be found at the foot of weeping willows. At the other end of the Molesworth Road, you can camp at Acheron, and swim in the nearby river.
Adult $6 per night, child (5-17 years) $3 per night, infant free
Note:
* Gravel access. Not suitable for vehicles with trailers, caravans, motorhomes, buses or other vehicles over seven metres long.
* This campsite is only open when the Acheron Road is open. Weather related conditions and fire threats can close it at any time. Phone +64 3 572 9100 to check if the road is open. Tour operators take tours at other times of year.
* No fires.
