Describe yourself and what you do in 3 words/phrases
I am a converted city dweller. I love sharing our semi self sufficient lifestyle and piece of paradise with visitors, friends and family. Because of our Mountain biking tracks and accommodation we get a fair few people to our property which is great. I like to think that if I can encourage them to do something really simple so they have some connection with their food and environment, like growing their own parsley then it’s an achievement
Where is your favourite place in Marlborough?
Apart from our little farm, the Marlborough Sounds. Especially in winter when it is still and no one else is around it is just magical. Having spent time overseas and seeing so many amazing sights, nothing beats the stunning landscape we have here.
If you had only 3 days in Marlborough, how would you spend the time?
Day 1 Tasting my way around Marlborough wineries and restaurants
Day 2 Tucked up on an idyllic beach in the sounds with some jolly good wine from Day 1
Day 3 Exploring one of the amazing walks or Mountain bike rides in the area
There is so much on offer in Marlborough for families, what is your favourite experience to take your children out to enjoy?
We love packing up a picnic and going on an adventure to find a secret spot to enjoy it. There are unlimited swimming holes along the rivers, mountains to climb to the top of and beautiful beaches to play on, we love getting the children out and exploring it with them.
Marlborough has a lot on offer for couples to enjoy a weekend getaway. Describe the ideal romantic weekend in Marlborough?
My idea of a romantic weekend would be to nestle up in the Taylor Pass Hut with some good food, wine and the company of my husband and enjoy a break from it all. What’s better than a climb up the hill to check out the 360 views over Marlborough and to the bottom of the North Island, dinner nestled in a warm, sunny spot and a bath under the stars to finish the day?
