Located in Havelock, the gateway to the picturesque Marlborough Sounds, the annual Havelock Mussel & Seafood Festival is back on Saturday the 11th of March 2023.

It’s the perfect way to enjoy fresh seafood, alongside great kiwi music and entertainment for everyone, all at a family-friendly price.

NEW for 2023 will be the introduction of the NMIT Cooking Competition in the NZ King Salmon Cooking Tent, and a VIP area! We've also given under 16’s free entry, when accompanied by an adult, to encourage families along.

This year's Celebrity Chef is none other than internationally acclaimed Simon Gault, one of New Zealand's most-respected food leaders. With live music from Kiwi Legends The Jordan Luck Band, supported by the Lost tribe Aotearoa, Jody Direen and duo Genre Fluid at the 2023 festival.

Tantilise your tastebuds in the NZ King Salmon Cooking Tent with cooking displays from local chefs and experts, or enjoy local cuisine with over 40 food stalls.

Learn about the local industry in the Marine Farming Association Industry Tent, keep the kids entertained at the NIWA Kids Zone, get amongst the dress up competitions, and don’t miss the public mussel opening competitions and the famous intercompany mussel opening competition including the Guinness World Record attempt.

The purpose of the festival is to promote and enhance the understanding and appreciation of the NZ Green Shell Mussel, after all Havelock is the Green Shell Mussel Capital of New Zealand. Secondly, to provide grants to organisations for charitable purposes in the local community.

The Havelock Mussel & Seafood Festival is a not-for-profit event and has been contributing back to the local community since 2004.

Tickets are available before the big day and at the gate, unless sold out prior.
