Blumine Island/Oruawairua Campsite

Camping at Blumine Island is an incredible experience, with the call of kiwis in the night, and a symphony of birdsong in the morning. You'll need to take your boat or catch a water taxi to this predator free island in the Queen Charlotte Sound, where the campsite is just meters from the edge of the sea, but costs just $6 per adult and $3 per child. Walk to the WWII gun emplacements and be dazzled by views along the way. Please check your bags and tents to ensure you don't bring any stowaways onto the Island, which is a precious sanctuary for native wildlife.
