Birch Hill Cottage-Wairau Valley-30 minutes to St Arnaud

Birch Hill Cottage is a tranquil self contained cottage on our land. Fully renovated this was the original Head Shearer’s Cottage for the area and is a wonderful spot to come completely relax while in NZ. Lisa and Mike have planted 100's of trees and are working on establishing a garden paradise over the 8 years they have owned the property. We are continuously upgrading the cottage and land. You are welcome to come and enjoy and experience our slice of paradise. The cottage is situated on 8 acres of land and shared with the main house. Located 40 minutes easy drive from Blenheim, and 30 minutes from St Arnaud, Lake Rotoiti, and the gateway to Rainbow ski area, it is secluded but has easy access to the beautiful Marlborough region. The cottage has a microwave, a single element induction cooktop and a hooded BBQ. We have high quality cotton sheets, all new linens, towels and bedding. Nothing in this cottage is what we wouldn't live with ourselves. You will have the full cottage to yourselves and you are welcome to wander around the 8 acres we are continuously planting and developing. Our cottage is close if you need anything, but you will be able to enjoy your escape, peace, quiet and privacy. CELL COVER: As we are rural, we do not have very good cell coverage. We have installed a cell booster in the cottage. This runs on the Spark/Skinny network. This means you can get pretty good cell cover unless its really cloudy. Its what we use in our cottage and its been great to have the coverage. We DO NOT have Vodafone coverage in our area. We would suggest a Spark or Skinny SIM Card if you were wanting cell cover while staying. WIFI: There is NO WiFi or Broadband available in our rural area. If WiFi is important to you, I’m sorry but our space is not for you. TV: We have installed Freeview in the cottage, and the TV is able to play DVD’s if you want to bring some DVD’s. DOGS: We have 2 friendly German Shorthaired Pointers.
