Kaipupu Sanctuary walk

Go for a leisurely walk around the 2.7km circular track and enjoy the bird song, native forest, and stunning views across the inner Queen Charlotte Sound.

On your visit, you may see fur seals, penguins, bellbirds (korimako), tūi, wētā and geckos (and many more). Rimu, miro, tōtara, ferns and many more varieties of plants feature.

Access

Kaipupu Sanctuary is only ten minutes by water from Waitohi/Picton. The track begins down at the jetty. The full loop track is a 2.7km circuit.

Donations

Entry to the Sanctuary is FREE but donations are welcomed at the donation box near the jetty, or through the donation page on the website.
